Control Strategy for Modular Multilevel Converter With Energy Storage Ability

  • 摘要: 研究具有储能功能的模块化多电平换流器的控制方法,将模块化多电平换流器与电池储能系统相结合,适用于离岸风电场接入电力系统等柔性直流输电应用。系统在模块化多电平换流器的基础上,在子模块直流侧加入蓄电池实现储能。换流器两侧均可等效为受控电压源,可在储能容量范围内对直流侧馈入功率起到平滑作用。运行时,换流器交流侧有功无功电流解耦控制实现交流功率控制,换流器直流侧直流电流控制实现直流功率控制,给出子模块SOC控制方法和子模块组SOC控制方法实现系统中大量蓄电池SOC的平衡控制。计算机仿真分析表明,提出的系统可实现交直流功率控制和储能功能。

     

    Abstract: A control strategy for modular multilevel converter (MMC) with energy storage ability is proposed for such flexible DC transmission application as power system connected with offshore wind farm. In the main circuit, battery banks are set in each sub-model of MMC. The DC terminal and AC terminal of converter are equivalent to controlled voltage sources, and feed-in power at DC side is smoothed in the region of energy storage capacity. During operation, the decoupled control of active power current at AC side of converter can realize AC power control, and the direct current control at DC side of converter can regulate DC power. In addition, SOC control methods of sub-model and sub-model cluster are given to balance the battery SOC in system. The simulation results show that proposed system can realize power control and storage function of AC/DC current system, and its viability is also verified.
