Low Carbon Economic Dispatch of Virtual Power Plants Considering Deep Peak Shaving of Carbon Capture Units

  • In the context of large-scale grid connection of wind power, a low-carbon economic dispatching method is proposed for virtual power plants to address the issues related to insufficient peak shaving performance and poor low-carbon economic benefits of deep peak shaving of thermal power units, considering deep peak shaving of carbon capture units. Firstly, a deep peak shaving cost model of carbon capture units considering unit load factor and compensation mechanism is constructed. The superior peak shaving performance and low carbon benefits of the carbon capture units with integrated flexible operation are analyzed. Then, a low carbon economic dispatching model for virtual power plants is constructed with the objective of minimizing operating costs. Finally, the impact of peak shaving auxiliary services, various operation modes of carbon capture units, and the combined operation of electricity to gas is analyzed through dispatching results in multiple scenarios to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in relieving peak shaving pressure, improving system low carbon and economy and promoting wind power consumption.
