Adaptive Control Strategy of Hybrid Energy Storage System for Mitigating Wind Power Fluctuations

  • Aiming at the hybrid energy storage system consisting of three vanadium flow batteries, lithium iron phosphate battery and super capacitor energy storage technology, a wind power fluctuation mitigation control strategy based on adaptive power allocation for hybrid energy storage system was proposed. The second-order low-pass filtering algorithm was used to adaptively allocate and adjust the characteristics of different energy storage systems. Considering the subsequent operation requirements of the system, the segmentation power control optimization adjustment based on SOC feedback was performed to make the energy storage system work in the normal interval and provides a certain charging and discharging space for the subsequent operation period. And finally, through the limit constraint correction of the energy storage system, the effective mitigation of the output power fluctuation of the wind farm was realized. The effectiveness of this control strategy was finally verified by the application experiments in the actual wind farm energy storage system.
