Multi-objective Economic Dispatch of Transmission-distribution-coupled Networks Considering Global and Regional Carbon Emission Obligations

  • In the context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals carbon emission will become an important evaluation index, which make it worthy of consideration in economic dispatch. In this paper we propose a distributed multi-objective economic dispatch model for transmission-distribution-coupled networks considering global and regional carbon emission constraints under the cooperation of transmission and distribution. Then, the weighted-sum method is applied in the model to handle multiple objectives. By introducing boundary parameters, a centralized multi-objective economic dispatch model of transmission-distribution-coupled networks is decoupled into a transmission system operator sub-problem and several distribution system operator sub-problems utilizing the heterogeneous decomposition algorithm. Alternating iterations are processed between transmission system and distribution system operators through boundary parameter exchange to achieve solutions. Numerical experiments indicate that the proposed method shows superiority in accuracy, convergence, and the efficiency over centralized economic dispatch methods. Furthermore, it enables the simultaneous consideration of both economic and environmental benefits.
