Discussion on the Development of New Energy Storage Commercialization Models Driven by Policies

  • During the 14th Five Year Plan period, the installed scale capacity of the new energy power generation in China continued to grow, and the demand for new energy storage increased accordingly. The new energy storage industry in China is currently at the early stage of commercial development, and promoting the commercialization of new types of energy storage is one of the important tasks in China’s 14th Five Year Plan period. To this end, the country has issued multiple policies to guide and promote the scientific, systematic, and rapid development of the new energy storage industry. Many provinces and cities across the nation have actively responded to national policies by issuing multiple policies related to the development of new energy storage according to the characteristics of energy structure and actual demand for energy storage in different regions. The main application scenarios and development directions for the commercial development of China’s new energy storage industry were identified based on a comprehensive summary and analysis of the national policies, important information on the development plans, priorities, and requirements of new energy storage in various key regions. The economic benefits of energy storage were quantified based on specific scenarios, and relevant development suggestions were provided in a targeted manner.
