Multi-time-scale Demand Response of Coordinated Distribution Network and Microgrid

  • Currently, on the basis of the coupling of distribution network and microgrid in various aspects such as physical connection and information exchange, a demand response (DR) mode for coordinated distribution network and microgrid has gradually emerged. However, existing research has not fully explored the leading role of distribution network in microgrid demand response, nor has it provided a fine-grained distinction of demand response characteristics among different stakeholders. Therefore, enabling active support and demand response from microgrid to distribution network is crucial to strengthen the integration between distribution network and microgrid. To address the demand response of multi-time-scale distribution network and microgrid coordination, the response characteristics of various types of load resources in microgrid are analyzed, and a multi-time-scale scheduling capability evaluation method is proposed based on hierarchical and temporal modeling of heterogeneous load resources. Finally, a demand-response model based on schedulable capability evaluation is established, and a case study is conducted to validate the capability of the demand-response model in realizing coordinated, economic, and secure operation of distribution network and microgrid.
