Study on Dynamic Reactive Power Compensation Scheme of Dabancheng Wind Farm

  • To ensure the security and effective operation of Dabancheng power grid, three reactive power compensators to enhance the transient voltage stability of Dabancheng wind farm are studied. The Dabancheng wind farm models is built in PSS/E, the mechanism to ensure transient stability with different compensators under short-circuit faults is analyzed, and their influence on transient voltage stability is verified by simulation. Results show that STATCOM can help wind farm recovery voltage after power grid fault occurs more effectively, which improve fault ride-through capability of wind farm, and ensure continuous operation of wind generator unit and security of power grid.
