Research on Electric Vehicle Charger Based on Voltage SourcePWM Rectifier with Direct Power Control

  • For Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, the modified strategy of Direct Power Control based on voltage source PWM rectifier is proposed. First, the topological structure of PWM rectifier is introduced. Then the basic principle and control characteristic of traditional Direct Power Control (DPC) system with six interval divisions is analyzed, based on which a control method with twelve interval divisions is proposed to improve the control characteristics. Then this new method is deduced in detail, and the switch table which is defined by this method is proposed. Finally, the modified Direct Power Control method is validated by PSCAD, and simulation on the switch table is implemented by using of QuartusII9.0, which shows that each data can reach its predefined index.
