Comparison of Green Function Method and Numerical Inverse Laplace Transform for Analyzing Transient Response of Transmission Line

  • A Green Function method is proposed to analyze the terminal response of simple transmission lines by solving network node admittance equation of transmission lines to reflect terminal response more factually. In order to prove its correctness and priority, the comparison of Green Function method with NILT method is carried out. By using the two methods, the transient voltage response for lossless terminal matching and the lossy terminal un\|matching transmission line are simulated. The results obtained by using of Green Function method have good degree of coincidence with real terminal response, the error is smaller, and the waveform is stable. But the simulation by NILT method has a great impulse and oscillation near zero point. The error during middle process seems like a sine wave, but it will increase dramatically that is hard to reflect the practical situation during later process. So the Green Function Method is very suitable to be applied to study the terminal response of the transmission line, which has more advantage than NILT method.
