The Realization of Partial Discharge Detector in GIS Based on DSP

  • A partial discharge detector in GIS is realized based on DSP. A broad-band piezoelectric thin film acoustic transducer is used to convert the acoustic or ultrasonic signal generated by partial discharge into an electric signal. And the signal from ultransonic transducer is sampled through the on-chip high-speed AD of a DSP, then whether a partial discharge occurs or not can be initially judged. When partial discharge is detected, the wave form, amplitude and frequency of the discharge signal are displayed successively. Field tests show that partial discharge may be located between any two insulation rings of GIS by comparing detecting results of some detectors.
