Coordination of Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning for Wind Power Integration at Multi\|points

  • Operation cost is usually ignored in traditional transmission expansion planning integrated with wind farms, so as the effect on operation cost by operation states. On the condition of multi-interconnection with wind farms, the distribution of power flow fluctuates significantly, that leads to greater impact on operation cost. Meanwhile, the relevance between the output of wind farms at the grid connection point and the load nearby has a significant impact on the operational economy and reliability. Thus, a multi-objective transmission expansion planning (TEP) model with the optimization for connection point of wind farms is built in this paper, taking the operation cost, investment cost and reliability cost into account. In order to figure out the operation cost and reduce computation at once, clustering technology is applied to generate multi-dimensional operation scenarios in consideration of the spatial distribution of wind farms to simulate operation states. Both differential evolution and Topsis technology are applied to solve the proposed model. IEEE30 test system with wind farms is used to test the applicability and validity of the model and scenarios proposed in this paper, so as to offer suggestions for system with multi-connection point of wind farms in mountain areas.
