Abstract
As to such issue as security-constrained unit commitment (SCUC) of power systems with wind farm, the volatility and uncertainty of wind power output are improved by means of the fast two-way regulation capacity of energy storage, then operation cost is also reduced. Taking the impact of prediction error of wind power and demand on SCUC into account, the over allocation of reserve can be avoided by introducing the chance constrained formulation of spinning reserve based on trusted theory. In addition, reasonable curtailment can be applied to enhance the accommodation capability of wind power and reduce operation cost. The impact of energy storage parameters and its grid-connected approach on system operation cost and wind curtailment in SCUC are also analyzed in this paper. In the end, 10-machine New England power system is used to validate the proposed model.
