Islanded Operation Control Strategy for Battery Energy Storage System Based on RT-LAB

  • It is required a stable voltage and frequency for microgrid during islanded operation. As to such characteristics as intermittent fluctuations of wind generation and PV and the frequently switching of load, the battery energy storage system (BESS) should balance active and reactive power for microgrid. In this paper, experiment platform of islanded battery microgrid is built based on the RT - LAB, and the difference between the inductance current inner loop and the capacitive current inner loop is compared based on the traditional V/f control to improve traditional constant voltage constant frequency control, which has better anti-disturbance features of load current. In the end, the simulation model is established under matlab/simulink, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation is verified on the RT-LAB platform. The simulation experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
