Technical Challenge and Development Direction of Dispatching Operation in China Southern Grid Under Power Market Reform

Electricity market reform is increasingly changing whole power industry in recent years, which bring great challenges to dispatching operation of power grid. Southern power grid is at the forefront in the electricity market reform in China. Dispatching operation of power grid has been greatly changed due to electricity market reform. So in this paper, successful experience of dispatching operation of electricity market in foreign countries is introduced, and the changes and challenges for dispatching operation under the current electricity market reform environment are analyzed, based on which some key dispatching operation technique that support marketing development are presented. In the end, by combining real development of southern power grid, the needed techniques under the electricity market reform circumstance in China Southern Grid are discussed.
