Transaction Clearing Model in Electricity Market with Microgrids Based on Blockchain Technology Under Low-carbon Situation

  • With the reform of electricity market and the development of microgrid, an increasing number of market members, including microgrids, will involve in the electricity market in the future. Electricity transactions will become more frequent, which makes electricity market management difficult. By considerating of the shortcomings of the current power trading center, the use of blockchain can realize the decentralized management of electricity market and ensure safe and efficient transaction. Firstly, based on the current status of the development of blockchain technology, the feasibility of blockchain technology applied in power market with microgrids is analyzed in this paper. A new type of transaction clearing model with low-carbon benefit is then proposed in view of the environmental value of microgrid. Finally, the proposed model is testified by analysis case, its validity is verified by comparison with the traditional clearing model, and specific applications of blockchain in electricity market are elaborated.
