AC/DC Coordinated Control of Power Router Based on Virtual Synchronous Generator Control Technology

  • As the key equipment of the energy internet, the circuit topology and control strategy of energy routers are closely related to the acceptance of renewable energy and flexible power conversion. An energy router topology is proposed in this paper. The AC and DC ports in the structure are controlled by the virtual synchronous generator to achieve the coordinated control of the AC/ DC interface energy. Models of DC-VSG controller and the AC-VSG are established to realize the coordinated control of the AC and DC side, respectively. With the proposed method, the paper verified the correctness of the proposed energy router topology, the energy flow and the stability of the bus voltage under three operation conditions of DC-side load sudden increasing, system frequency sudden increasing and decreasing.The proposed control method is compared with the traditional droop control in MATLAB. Droop control has the advantages of fast adjusting but with larger overshoot and more abrupt change. The VSG control has better damping and inertia characteristics, which is helpful to the stable operation of the system. The proposed control strategy presents a new type of solution for the stable operation of energy routers.
